SmartCatalog Awarded Defense Contract from
Naval Postgraduate School

SmartCatalog won its first Defense Contract with the Naval PostGraduate School (NPS) in Monterey, California. The firm beat out several other companies in a competitive RFP to provide a curriculum database for the school and to implement a Catalog Management System. SmartCatalog accepted and met an accelerated deadline for the project, which included not only migrating all NPS curriculum into the system, but providing a back-end protocal for export of data to the school’s Student Information Systems. The resulting online catalog can be seen at http://www.nps.edu/Academics/GeneralCatalog/Home.htm

Tulane goes live with SmartCatalog Course Database

Tulane University went live on the SmartCatalog website as the first school to participate in the national Course Database. To see the online catalog go to Tulane Catalog.

The SmartCatalog Course Database is a comprehensive resource for administrators, educators and students. The tool lists courses in an easy-to-use, searchable online database. Users may scroll through a school’s courses by index or search on any criteria available. Registrars and enrollment managers will find the data useful for determining and updating equivalencies. Students can preview courses without searching an entire catalog, and educators can compare courses at other institutions.

SmartCatalog supports Tulane, a long-time client, and other Katrina affected schools wishing to participate with free inclusion in the database. Access to Tulane courses at academiccatalog.com will be free of charge perpetually.
