Prof. Adderley. This course explores the development of distinctive cultural forms and patterns in the Caribbean basin from the arrival of Europeans at the end of the 15th century up to the present day. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the diverse origins and particular social contexts from which different aspects of Caribbean culture have developed.
