691 Gender in Latin America (3)

Staff. Prerequisites: SOCI 249 or LAST 101, and SOCI 322 or approval of instructor. A sociological examination of how changing political, economics and developmental issues in Latin America shape and are shaped by gender relations. Topics may include gender and the family, the work place, the community, the media, political institutions, and social movements. Comparisons will be made between individuals in Latin American and Latinos/Latinas living outside the region.
