SPAN 442 Introduction to Multicultural Medieval Iberia (3)
Prof. Dangler. Prerequisites: SPAN 404 and 405. Introduction to the cultural issues of medieval Iberia from the eighth century to 1500. Students read a variety of medieval stories, miracles, and historical documents in order to actively discuss Iberia's diverse Jewish, Muslim, and Christian communities, and to engage with such topics as courtly love, health and healing, pilgrimage, the "reconquest," and medieval work.
