Prof. Avelar, Prof. Bass, Prof. Davis, Prof. Miller, Prof. Pavlovic, Prof. Soufas, Prof. Soufas, Prof. Sullivan, Prof. Urbina. Prerequisite: 400-level sequence. An introduction to modern theories of literary analysis. Readings will consist of primary texts in the schools of thought to be studied, which may include formalism, stylistics, semiotics, reader-oriented approaches, structuralism, deconstruction, feminism, poststructuralism, queer theory, and postcolonial studies.
