This course investigates measurement, error analysis and the treatment of uncertainties in biomedical engineering. Students will be provided an introduction to statistics, including probability and distributions, confidence intervals, sampling and hypothesis tests on the mean. Sources of potential bias (and how to avoid them) and various experimental designs commonly utilized in biomedical engineering will also be explored. Useful computational tools will be introduced and utilized throughout the course.
