ITP 205 Introduction to Operating Systems (3)

Introduction to operating systems provides the basic functions of modern desktop and enterprise operating systems. Topics addressed in the course include: multi-tasking, process synchronization, deadlocks, memory management, file systems, protection, backup, security and communication between the operating system and the computer architecture. The course includes comparative analysis of modern operating systems such as Unix, Windows, Macintosh and Open VMS. Prerequisite: consent of instructor.
