Prof. Balides. Explores the position of women in Hollywood and other cinemas by studying the evolution of women's cinema and of feminist film theories from the 1920s to the present. The history of feminist film analysis, focusing on theoretical-sociological, psychoanalytic, semiological underpinning of feminist critiques of both commercial and independent avant-garde film practices.
