Prof. Patton. A survey of theories, empirical research, and critical analysis of public political communication. In addition to a study of the rhetoric of electoral campaigns, course topics include material on communication emanating from the judiciary, the legislature, the executive branch, and mass media. Social movements which impinge on the political process are also discussed.
