COMM 460 Intercultural Communication (3)

Prof. Patton, Prof. Spitzack. A critical examination of communication in intercultural, interethnic, and international contexts. An overview of models and approaches designed to explain cultural differences in communication, with emphasis on the dimensions of symbolization, acculturation, prejudice, stereotyping, and ideology. Conceptual frameworks are applied and tested within a range of cultural populations as defined by race, ethnicity, gender, physical disability, sexuality, socio-economic class, and geographic location.
